This will be the official console games thread. All relevant discussion, news, gamer tags, setting up online matches and playtimes, release dates, upcoming games, etc will go here so Vate doesn't have to see them. I'll try to put something together with everyone's Live and PSN tags on here if you guys want and I'll just update the initial post here.

In other news, has anyone tried Darksiders or Bayonetta? They both came out yesterday and I think there were demo's available for them on Live and PSN. I didn't have a chance to download them, but I've been keeping tabs on both games for about half a year now. Darksiders looks like the more interesting of the two, being a Zelda ype game, where as Bayonetta is probably the more visually please, action filled, Devil May Cry type game.
I may or may not break down and grab Darksiders when I run some errands later today. I'm already playing MW2, Uncharted and finishing off prince of persia achievements at the moment though, so I wouldn't want to distract myself from the task at hand, but it does look amazing.

| If I ever get my xbox back from microsoft, and it actually works, I'd love to kill you in halo a few times. And die 20x for each of those kills, cause I'm usually pretty bad at that. I just get rediciulously lucky sometimes. I lov eit though, even though most of the time I spend playing I spend screaming, also. Nerdrage ftw!

Yeah, I've found that Modern Warfare 2 sometimes causes me to get random bouts of turrets.
I'm still looking for someone to play Left 4 Dead 2 with me as well. Hell, I'd even play the original Left 4 Dead is someone wants, as I didn't get to play it nearly as much as I would have liked to.
I broke down and ordered Darksiders, so I'll let you know how that turns out. It won't be here until late next week, so I'm hopeing that I can finish Uncharted and Arkham Asylum before it gets here.
In an effort to stop myself from going into GameStop every time I walk by one, I also preordered all the games I wanted (or could realistically have time to play) for the next few months. Unfortunately, it's mostly single player stuff. I have White Knight Chronicles (PS3 mid-February), Final Fantasy 13 (PS3 early March), and God of War 3 (PS3 mid-March). White Knight Chronicles looks neat. It looks Diablo-esque and you can play with friends online. It was released in Japan last year. Some upgrades have been made and in February it'll debut in North America and Europe, labeled as an "international" version.

Anyone have Left 4 Dead 2? I have some time Friday evening and I'd like to get play through some of the co-op campaign. If anyone is interested, let me know. I've had a hard tiem tearing myself away from MW2 lately, but other games are getting played once in a while. Darksiders should be here Friday, so if nobody is interested, I'll bury myself in that for a few days. I hear it's a fairly long game, being in the 40 hour range. That should keep me good and busy for a few weeks.
In other news, did anyone see that Razor (make mice and some other nice gaming hardware) is going to be releasing an xbox360 controller and headset? I for one, will definitely be getting one of the controllers. I've owned 3 of their mice, one of the keyboards and have their Make speakers. They've all been great products and I can't wait to try the controller.

If you're looking for a little break from WoW and want to do some console gaming, I'd highly recomment Darksiders. They say the game gets better and better as you play, and I've only played about 5 hours and it's already easily the best game I've played since Zelda: Ocarina of Time (one of my top 5 games ever). It has a very nice balance of fighting, platforming, puzzles, "vehicles based (on animals)" fights, RPG elements, and has epic boss battles like in the Gow of War series. Some say it's a ripoff from some of the best Action and RPG games out there, and that may be so, but they did a damn good job with it. I really like the art style too. And it's sort of mission-based, which has a "questing" feel to it. The quests are linear, but they way you go back to this person or that person and hand them in gives it an all too familiar feel.
One another note, if anyone actually reads this, I've had a WoW itch lately and a couple of my RL friends just started playing again and moved to Zul'Jin..... not sure why they did, since 90% of us that were there stopped playing, but whatever. It is awfully temping..... if not just to see ICC.
For now, the console gaming is great fun, and there's none of the feeling that I ever "need to play" which I typically felt in WoW because I can't stand falling behind.
In other news, I cancelled my order for White Knight Chronicles. I downloaded the demo for Valkyria Chronicles. It looks pretty badass and what I tried of the combat system was near. I may get that for something fun in February.

I picked up Bayonetta last Friday before the great freeze in NC. It's fun...until you die...it's like Devil May Cry...but harder...I have to be careful when my GF is around or I end up throwing the controller at her.
I highly recommend it !

Bayonetta is on my short list of games to buy when they drop in price a little.
I've been playing Darksiders and MW2 lately. Mostly MW2. I hope to finish off Darksiders in the next week. This week I'll focus on God of War 1, from the collection. I prestiged in MW2 as well, so I'm working my way back up through the ranks. With the care package exploit though, games are getting really frustrating.
I think on March 2nd, when it comes out, I'll be moving to Bad Company 2 from Modern Warfare 2. I played the xbox demo and liked it. It's looking like I'll be playing it for PS3 though, as that's where I have more friends that'll be playing it.
FF13 also comes out in March. I haven't heard anything all that good about it, but it's a Final Fantasy game, so I'm going to get it and play it anyway.

MW has so many bugs its annoying. everytime they patch something a new problem comes up
I never use to run with care packages, but i find myself doing so just incase the other team starts cheating.

And tina, i also highly recommend throwing controllers at girlfriends, keeps em on their toes for a Houdini.

Hey, nayone out there play Halo3? I've been sorta thinking of playing that some more, but I don't feel like going solo. Anyone up for either a co op campaign on the weekends or some ranked fun? Gtag is Eriias, but better to post here, i dont really check that very often since i broke my Rock band drumset...again....i need to stop drumming so hard (and they need to stop putting intense parts that require me to drum so hard on there).
Anyway, if anyone is interested let me know and we can go shoot some aliens. Or some other random ppl sitting int heir house int he underwear yelling at the screen.

| Halo 3 was the game that got me wanting an Xbox but that time has past. I hardly touch it. I have a couple buddies who love that game, but as of right now they are on MW2 more.

I haven't played Halo 3 in a long time, but there were runs of about a month each, not long after the game came out, where I played a ton. I find MW2 much more addicting with the level system and gu attachment system.
Speaking of which, I was finally able to get the care package glitch working last night for PS3. It's not that hard to do. I did it twice and felt dirty. Each time, I only got myself one extra care package though, and I think it was crap each time. A counter UAV and a Stealth Bomber, if I remember right. I've decided to only use it when someone on the other team is blatently cheating.
Odio, have you tried the multiplayer demo for Battlefield: Bad Company 2? I'd recommending at least giving it a try. I liked it a lot. Kiyren, you may as well download it and give it a try too. It is free after all.

| I'm rather limited on my 'console' game knowledge, as I usually played PC games until just recently, and now the ones I play are all Rockback/guitar hero (had the whlle GH series for PS2, but my sis took it with her to college to use as a DVD player since I never used it) and halo3. I have Fable, but i didnt like that very much and I havent had much time to play Assasin's creed, though it looks pretty awesome. I'm also pretty sure I mentioned KotOR somewhere in here, but I played that on PC too, I just know it came out for XBOX as well.

My xbox 360 died this weekend  It was a launch system, so we had a good 5 years together. I looked into getting it fixed, but between the cost to fix, shipping it, and buying a new hard drive for it (mine was only 20gig and I want to 120gig), I'd be looking at around $250ish anyway. Soooo, I think I'm going to just play the PS3 for the next couple months, then get myself a new xbox360 elite in April. Or sooner if I see a good deal on one, but I don't be home much in March, plus I have 3 PS3 games coming out that month.
I did already order a date transfer cable though, so that I could get all the stuff from the old hard-drive onto the new system when I get it.
Sad times though..... then again, based on the failure rate of the launch systems, I was probably on borrowed time anyway.

I so totally owned The Beatles Rock Band....
ALthough it made me sad; there are some songs on there I liked a lot but itunes does not have, because itunes sucks and doesn't have the beatles. Oh well.
Also, I found a song on RB2 that was so fun to play, I'm playing it for my rock methods class- Everlong by The Foo Fighters. It's gonna be awesome (on drums) I already have it mostly down, and it's not due till next week or something.
SOMEONE said the boards were quiet, so there ya go.

So, I came back to WoW, and I probably won't replace my xbox360 for a couple months now. Plus, I have a pretty busy march both with games and other events.
Onwards to the point..... Since my xbxo360 decided to die, I returned some unopened xbox360 games I had in hopes of getting the same games for PS3. That didn't work out, so I ended up getting Bioshock 2 and some store credit. I had also previously ordered Bioshock 1 when I saw it online new for $17 one day. It's going to be really hard for me to not spend what free gaming time I have not trying to play WoW catch-up, but I'd really like to finish Bioshock in the next week and thens tart in on Bioshock 2 before March hits. So, I was wondering if anyone here has played the original and can tell me about how long it took to do one playthrough? I'm guessing it's in the 15 hour range, so it's realistic I can hit a couple raids and finish this in a week. I'm also working on the God of War collection now too though, but those games are super short.

Bad Company 2 came out last week. I got about 6 hours of online playtime in, and I must say, it's a good time. Unlocking level and weapons feels much more rewarding than it was in MW2. You actually have to level up and use certain weapons, etc to get "perks" in general, let alone the better ones. The higher level people definitely have an advantage in this game. That's not a bad thing though, as it makes leveling feel that much more rewarding. I've been playing the engineer class, and I'm having a good time. They have a nice overall balance to that class. Medics almost seem unfair because they get LMG's with huge clips and health pacs.
FF13 comes out tomorrow. I'll be out of town this weekend, so I won't get to play it until next week probably, but that's alright. I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on this game, but it's a Final Fantasy game, so it could be complete shit and I'll still play it.
God of war 3 drops next week! March is a busy month. I'm still working through the GoW collection. I guess I better lgiht a fire under my ass and finish those games ina hurry. Lets be honest though...... I'm going to play FF13 before I touch GoW3, so it might be a while before I get to this.
Since my xbox360 died, I ordered Mass Effect 2 for PC. IT's the daily special at amazon today and is only $30. The first game was great, and this one is supposed to be even better. If you're looking to try it, it won't be cheaper than $30 for a long long time, so you might want to grab it.

hey kamb ill let you know how FF13 is as im getting it tonight. (Yay been waiting on this game for ages  ) im also waiting on GoW 3 as well but im not sure i might wait on it for since i still like Dante's inferno and i was thinking on trying Bad Company 2 but i don't know anyone who has and i don't really want to go out and spend 60 buck on something i wont like.
but hey if you have MW2 ill play you a few times my PSN is paco1992.
